BUP Course Platform kick-off

2023-09-11

The BUP Coordinating Secretariat is very happy to invite all to a kick-off meeting for the BUP Course Platform to be held on Monday 16 October at 14:00 (CEST). At the meeting you can learn more about our courses that are created as free massive open online courses (MOOCs) that are unique in that they focus on sustainability in a Baltic Sea Region context.

Over the past number of years, online education has proliferated in nature and the BUP has been working actively within this field in creating a wide range of educational materials and courses from a intercultural, interdisciplinary and regional perspective. All of these courses are linked to the 10 themes of the BUP, all of which have a base in sustainability science. Currently the BUP has five courses open to enroll in;

  • Conditions and Challenges of Sustainability
  • Economic Sustainability- an introduction
  • Sustainable Food Systems in the Baltic Sea Region
  • Sustainable Tourism in the Baltic Sea Region
  • The Baltic Sea Environment; Challenges and Solutions

All of which can be accessed on the BUP's Course Platform: https://catalog.studium.uu.se/browse/bup

Sign up and start learning today!

These courses are free to access and take and have been developed by experts from across the Baltic Sea Region. The BUP is also actively creating further material, including courses on climate change, virtual exchange, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and rethinking the Baltic Sea Region which will available soon.

The kick-off meeting will take place online via Zoom Monday 16 October at 14:00 (CEST): https://uu-se.zoom.us/j/61807832648

At the meeting, we will talk further about the value of online education, display the courses that are open and discuss further how these courses can be used- if you are a student or a teacher! Heartily welcome!
