BUP at the Annual Forum 2021, EUSBSR
2021-09-08
The BUP will hold a workshop with the title “Baltic Sea Region Climate Change Curriculum” during the annual forum of “The EU strategy for the Baltic Sea region”. The workshop is an effort to meet the need for educating students and civil society due to the increase in climate change, it’s risks and solutions. We will present how the BUP works with this issue and are looking forward to hear your view.
The intention of the workshop is to present outcomes of the project Baltic Sea Region Climate Change Curriculum (BSRCCC) to academicians, decision makers and the broad public.
The project has been about bringing together several researchers with different backgrounds and expertise, in order to be able to present material that is truly holistic. Joining the forces of the 30 researchers and teachers involved in the BSRCCC-project, the outcome of the project is now step by step being published. The project partners have developed a scientifically backed and regionally based climate change course module, free for any academic institution, organisation or person to download and use.
To fully comprehend climate change, several perspectives from several fields of science is needed. It is important to have some basic understanding of all the different fields and how they are interconnected. Moreover, it is important to consider the role universities play in this context.
The BUP workshop will be held 29 September 2021, 15.00-17.00 (CET), online.
