New Participating University: Blekinge Institute of Technology

The BUP has a new Participating University: Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH). It is situated in Karlskrona, and has a distinctive focus on the digitalisation of society and sustainability. BTH’s task is to contribute to a more sustainable societal development through higher education, research and innovation. 

Through international excellence, BTH contribute to digital and sustainable transformation. As an institute of technology, they feel a responsibility and a unique opportunity to contribute to both regional and national competitiveness and to global sustainability. The vision of BTH is "A better world through knowledge, competence and innovation in digitalisation and sustainability."

External engagement with wider society and the private sector contribute is important for BTH and is ensuring that  education and research maintain high quality and relevance. Being a small university there are short distances between students and teachers. BTH offers profession-oriented study programmes within the disciplinary fields of engineering and health focused on society’s future needs and challenges. The research at BTH is conducted in twelve different fields at two faculties. BTH conducts research focused on digitalisation and sustainability and is usually conducted in collaboration with industry and society. Both of BTH’s campuses are located by the sea.
