2021-01-27

The Baltic University Programme (BUP) support students in their first career steps. By welcoming students from the BUP participating Universities to apply for an internship at the Coordinating Secretariat, located at Uppsala University, Sweden. Today, 89 universities in the Baltic Sea Region participate in the Programme.

The trainee will get the opportunity to work at the office of the Coordinating Secretariat, learn from colleagues and working environment, practice language and communication skills; in short, experience a workplace. The secretariat in Uppsala coordinates the programme and it's activities, apply for and coordinate projects, organise conferences and training for researchers, teachers and students. To respond to the current trends and situation, the BUP also develop digitalised education. So, work tasks can really vary.  As the BUP is an international programme, the working language is English.

Conditions of the BUP internship

The Baltic University Programme provides a workplace at the Coordinating Secretariat as well as leadership during the period of internship.

The internship is unpaid. The trainees need to cover costs themselves. We encourage applicants to turn to their local Erasmus offices to investigate the opportunities for receiving traineeship grants.

Due to the current situation with the restrictions on travelling, we are ready to discuss digital opportunities for the internship, depending on applicants qualification and working tasks available.

Requirements

The applicant should be enrolled at one of the BUP Participating Universities and have completed three years of studies. Since the task of the Coordinating Secretariat of the Baltic University Programme is about coordination, organisation and management, the candidate should have studied related subjects or have an interest to perform tasks connected to the secretariat's work. It would be beneficial if the applicant has an interest in the field of sustainable development, however, it is not a requirement.
