Support for young scholars

This year, we will support young scholars - PhD students, PhDs that have newly defended their thesis (max 2 years ago) and post doc. fellows - by inviting you to present your research at the BUP Symposium in fall 2022 and give you the opportunity to publish a full paper in any of our special issues that BUP is the guest editor of.

Books on a wallJournal Sustainability

The five most promising papers will be supported by the BUP (BUP pay the publication fee when the paper is accepted by the scientific journal).

Submit your application by sending the following to email director Madeleine Granvik

  1. Your name
  2. Affiliation
  3. Special issue you wish to publish in
  4. Preliminary title of the paper
  5. Abstract (max 250 words)

Deadline is 21 February 2022.

This opportunity is an alternative option allowing us to support young scholars during the Covid-19 pandemic. This year the BUP will not announce the BUP Mobility Research Grant aiming to strengthen the cooperation among young researchers (PhD students and Postdoc scholars) in the Baltic Sea Region, in their research on topics relevant for sustainable development.
