World Sustainability Book Series: Call for Ideas

2019-10-21

The World Sustainabilty Series is now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified academics, to produce additional volumes, as guest editors.

Expressions of interest for new volumes of the World Sustainabilty Series are now being sought. Teams interested to submit ideas for consideration should produce a short description of the planned book, with the title and scope of the possible publication.

The World Sustainabilty Series is the leading and most successful peer-reviewed book series on matters related to sustainable development. The series has published 30 volumes to date, involving over 700 individual contributions and in excess of 1.000 authors from round the world. It has produced some leading volumes such as "Integrative Approaches to Sustainable Development" (3 volumes), "Handbook of Sustainability Science and Research", "Towards Green Campus Operations", "Universities as Living Labs for Sustainable Development" will be available in January 2020. The full list of volumes produced to date can be seen at the Springer web site.

The series is now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified academics, to produce additional volumes, as guest editors. A publication as part of the Series gives not only a unique opportunity to produce state-of-the-art publications on the theory and practice of sustainable development, but also ensures a wide international visibility of the editorial team and authors. The peer-reviewed nature of the publications means that they have over the years officially counted as scientific outputs, and hundreds of academics have successfully used them for promotion and tenure purposes. Springer, the publisher of the Series, is among the top 5 scientific publishers, and is a company with a long publishing tradition, and a worldwide presence and distribution network.

Expressions of interest for new volumes of the World Sustainabilty Series are now being sought. Teams interested to submit ideas for consideration should produce a short description of the planned book, with the title and scope of the possible publication, to be sent to IUSDRP Hamburg. Interested editors will receive a feed-back and, in case of a match between the aims of the series and the planned publication, a work plan will be produced.

Information on forthcoming events leading to books to be published as part of the series (or as special issues of the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education) can be seen at the IUSDRP Current Event web page.
