BUP Science and Sail 2023

Science and Sail is a new concept of the BUP summer school that will partly take place onboard a tall ship. The focus of the summer school with be on the Baltic Sea Environment, where students will be spending a week in Klaipeda, doing daily excursions along the coast, the Curonian Spit, and onboard Klaipeda University’s tall ship Brabander.

The summer school welcomes bachelor and master students from all scientific disciplines studying at BUP participating universities. The week-long summer school will be a unique possibility to learn the fundamentals of Baltic Sea Environment while studying in an international environment, with some of the leading experts in the field.

The event will take place between 3-9 July in Klaipėda, Lithuania and the waters of the Baltic Sea.

Parts of the event will take place onboard Klaipėda University’s sailing vessel Brabander, sailing the southeastern part of the Baltic Sea, while conducting tests and collecting samples.

This event is free of charge and applications are open for students studying at either bachelor or master level at The Baltic University Programme’s participating universities.

In total 36 students from BUP participating universities will be selected to take part. We accept students from all kinds of study programs and no pre-knowledge of the Baltic Sea Environment is required.
