The Summer Course on Sustainability and Waste Management is being organized by the German offices of the Baltic University Programme in Hamburg and Zittau. The course will take place on 11-15 September 2012 in Goerlitz, Germany.
Students from all subjects registered at universities of the Baltic Sea Region and beyond are welcome to attend the summer course.

The organisers are unable to pay for any travel costs, but may be able to help with local accommodation and food. Please note that registration is necessary and that the number of participants is limited.



A second meeting for the planned BUP master course on Maritime Spatial Planning will be held on board the Polish sailing ship STS Fryderyk Chopin. The meeting will take place during a cruise that will be a part of the European Maritime Day in Gothenburg, Sweden the 20th May. The cruise will start in Szczecin, Poland on the 18th May and end in the same place the 25th May.
The “World Symposium on Sustainable Development at Universities” (WSSD-U-2012), organised by the Research and Transfer Centre “Applications of Life Sciences” of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), under the auspices of the RCE Hamburg and Region, will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 5-6 June 2012. It is an official parallel event to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), also known as Rio+20, and will consist of state-of-the-art presentations of university research activities, curriculum development and outreach programmes on sustainability in higher education from over 30 countries.
During the European Maritime Days 2012 which are organised by EUs DG MARE, BTH as Swedish National Centre for Baltic University Programme will be co-organising the Workshop Training for maritime professions - competence and education tailored to business needs of European maritime clusters. Centre Director Prof Lars Emmelin will be speaking on the topic of maritime spatial planning education in the Baltic Sea.
A first EHSA (Ecosystem Health and Sustainable Agriculture) Teachers Conference will be held in Rogów, Poland the 3 - 7 June, 2012.
