The P-stop Handbook

P-stop. Teaching and learning for sustainable development.Another interesting WWF project for school teachers is P-STOP. This project has produced a handbook entitled "P-stop. Teaching and learning for sustainable development - about laundry, lavatory and underwater ecosystems". The handbook is written by Gunnel Bergström, Gitte Jutvik and Krzysztof Kochan and available for download as a pdf pdf-file in four language versions:

From the foreword:

This guide is directed towards teachers working in primary and secondary schools. Although the topic may primarily be identified as a subject related to the natural sciences, we actually enter the sphere of the social sciences and see language, mathematics, arts and computer science as competencies and skills that enable us to communicate and relate. The economic aspect -
from household to international levels – is also an integral part.

When using this handbook we advise you and your colleagues to plan for a longer period of study in which the focus is on improving knowledge about local waters and sustainable development - knowledge that is linked to everyday life and social responsibility.

P-STOP stands for Stop Phosphorus in Detergents!
P-STOP is Education for Sustainable Development in Practice!
