Today’s debate on energy is very much a struggle to get out of or continue to use fossil resources, coal, oil and gas. Especially all countries in central and eastern Europe, but in fact most countries in Europe or in the world, are very critically dependent on fossils. They see great difficulties to change energy systems and focus on ways to continue to use them without causing too much of the problems connected to fossils, especially emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Others maintain that the only viable option is to without delay develop energy systems relying on renewable sources: sun , wind and water.
