“There is no pleasure in having a lot of time, but nothing to do” – this sentence can express my idea and wish to be an intern (trainee) for Baltic University Programme at Uppsala Centre for Sustainable Development. The opportunity to join a professional, creative and international team for me is significant and useful: during my bachelor studies, when I started to participate in international programmes and different scientific activities, I began to be interested in sustainable development issues and its ability to be the joining part between education, environmental sciences and business sector.

Being an intern in BUP means an opportunity to learn, act and create the ways how questions of sustainable development, environmental protection and democracy in the Baltic Sea Region could be more attractive and interesting. In 2007, I finished my bachelor studies in Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), and in 2010 my master studies in international relations and diplomacy at Vilnius University (Lithuania). Considering the knowledge of the  academic sphere and work experience with international and regional projects, which main ideas combined social politics, education, motivation for activity, I believe, that my skills can be useful for the BUP work visions.

During my half year internship period, I will be responsible for processes of information spread about BUP activities, keeping the contacts with Lithuanian universities and departments, starting and developing an “online” information spread about BUP via blogging systems and social networks, as well as be involved in scientific activities.

I strongly believe, that this opportunity to be a part of the BUP team, would give me more work experience in an international sphere and would be a significant investment for my future development and knowledge.
